The draft RFO is posted for comment and review from interested parties. Please provide comments and questions to the contracting officer in writing no later than Friday, August 24. The FAA plans to review comments and questions. A final RFO will be subsequently posted.
This Statement of Objectives defines the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Surveillance and Broadcast Services (SBS) office’s requirement to modify approximately 400 Alaska and nine Target of Opportunity (TOO) aircraft located in Philadelphia and Louisville from an “ADS-B out DO-282A Standard” to an ADS-B Rule Compliant (14 CFR 91.227). The purpose is to render the legacy equipment compliant with 14 CFR91.227, it is also desired to have the minimum ADS-B “In” functionality enhanced to support the SBS-provided broadcast services.
